A friend from across the country sent me a note today to say that Marissa Lorusso and Lyndsey McKenna’s NPR music newsletter had plugged my translation of Jergović’s Kin, which made me say what!? Here’s what seems to have happened.
They contacted a handful of their favorite musicians and asked them to tell them about one book they had read over the summer that they wanted to recommend, and here’s the first response listed:

That is so 😎cool. All translators deserve some recognition. I will probably not make it to Tucson this year, but my latest book of poetry “Gambol the World: Eine Weltanschauung” has been translated into Portuguese by Carlos Ramos. Copies are being published in KC and Portugal. I am really happy about this.
